Good news before summer vacation: Hungarian Wizz Air accepts new credit card type

Wizz Air, EMEA’s most environmentally sustainable airline, has announced that it now accepts American Express (Amex) as a payment method for flight bookings and onboard purchases, offering greater flexibility and convenience for both corporate and leisure customers.

In line with the airline’s Customer first compass initiative, Wizz Air is continuing to broaden its payment ecosystem to meet the needs of a growing and increasingly diverse customer base. The integration of Amex means that travellers across Europe and beyond who prefer to spend on their American Express Cards – including business travellers – can now seamlessly book flights or pay for services using their preferred method.

Welcoming the spending power of Amex’s loyal Cardmembers complements Wizz Air’s wider digital innovation strategy, aimed at simplifying the booking and flying experience for its over 70 million annual passengers.

For American Express, the agreement with Wizz Air adds to its rapidly expanding merchant acceptance and means that Amex payments are now accepted by all notable airlines across Europe. All Wizz Air services, from flight tickets to onboard products, are now available for purchase with Amex on the Wizz Air website and mobile app. Exclusive offers and discounts will also be available via the Amex Offers platform in the near future for American Express Cardmembers.
