Winter is making a comeback for the long weekend – weather forecast

Last weekend and the beginning of this week was dear to us with the warm weather, with temperatures reaching 19 degrees Celsius in some parts of Hungary, and with the sunshine. Unfortunately, as Időkép’s forecast reveals, we need to prepare for a new wave of cold that starts this long weekend.

As opposed to Thursday, Friday brings rain for the whole day the temperature moving between 5 and 9 degrees Celsius during the day.

Időkép further reveals that a Mediterranean cyclone reaches Hungary on Saturday, bringing most of the weekend’s rain and cold, strong winds along with it. In some parts of Hungary, even several centimetres of snow is expected. Be careful, as blizzards might occur in Western- and North-western Hungary.

The maximum temperature will be between -1 and +7 degrees Celsius.

Sunday might be the gloomiest, as winter returns this day. The strong wind will persevere, and most of the country should prepare for frost. Although the rain will stop in most places, snow and snow showers are still expected.

The beginning of the next week does not look sunny: the cold will last, so you should not put your winter garments away just yet. The minimum temperature during the night will be around -10 degrees Celsius.

At the moment, the maximum temperature in March will be 15 degrees Celsius. This means that we will have a fairly cold Easter in Hungary.
