In five years, a Hungarian person has attempted to pass the highway code exam 23 times, making them the Hungarian negative record holder.
In five years, a Hungarian person has attempted to pass the highway code exam 23 times. This makes them the Hungarian negative top performer, according to the Centre for Transport Aptitude and Examination (Közlekedési Alkalmassági és Vizsgaközpont, KAV), Blikk reports.
According to KAV data, in 2023, there were 415 category B candidates who took the highway code exam 10 times, 243 people who took it 11 times and 151 who tried it 12 times before passing.
According to kreszvaltozas.hu, 98,314 people passed the category B test in 2018, 103,972 in 2019, 92,480 in 2020, 93,680 in 2021 and 99,174 in 2022.
According to the portal, in the last five years, the oldest candidate to take the category B highway code exam in 2021 was 89 years old at the time of the exam. They gave up after three unsuccessful attempts. Meawhile, in 2020, the oldest candidate, aged 82, passed on the first attempt.
