Two Slovak Players Are Suspected of Match-fixing After FC Nitra – Hungary’s MTK friendly

Slovak police say two players from topflight club FC Nitra are suspected of match-fixing, SFGate reports.
According to SFGate, in a Monday statement, police say the players allegedly agreed to fix a friendly against Hungary’s MTK Budapest on Feb. 1, 2011, which MTK won 6-3, and another friendly seven days later against Czech side Bohemians 1905, which Nitra lost 2-1.
SFGate said, Investigators say they believe the players were paid at least 5,000 euros ($6,750) for making sure MTK won by at least two goals while scoring at least four goals.
