President Trump’s son visits Budapest, attends multiple private events

Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó revealed that he had met informally with Donald Trump Jr earlier yesterday, noting that the talks were not open to the press.
Trump Jr is in Budapest
Hungarian media reported that the planned venue for the meeting was originally the main building of the Foreign Ministry on Bem Square. However, at Trump Jr’s request, it was moved to an external location. According to HVG, the press had been invited to the ministry at 10 a.m., coinciding with Trump Jr’s expected arrival. Officials later informed media outlets that the venue had been changed.
HVG further reported that Trump’s eldest son also met with Gellért Jászai, the head of 4iG, following his discussions with Szijjártó. (We previously wrote HERE that the US President met Prime Minister Orbán, while Jászai met Elon Musk and Michael Waltz at Mar-a-Lago, Florida, in December.) The Hungarian outlet also learned that Trump Jr attended a gala dinner where he delivered a speech. Naturally, the press was not invited to any of these events.

He will visit other countries in the region
As the US President son’s does not hold an official position within the American administration, their meeting was purely an informal conversation, the Foreign Minister clarified. Szijjártó emphasised that Hungarian-American relations had entered a new dimension during the second Trump era, adding that Hungary considered the United States a friend. He also expressed happiness that the US President had not abandoned his belief in peacemaking, describing it as a matter of global interest.
Following his stay in Hungary, the US President’s son is expected to visit Serbia, Romania and Bulgaria.
