Travel on scheduled Danube boats again with a Budapest pass from May!

The MAHART Budapest Circle Cruise is another great way to discover the heart of Budapest this year. From Tuesday to Friday, you can board the boat free of charge with a monthly BKK season ticket or a longer season ticket.
On Tuesday 2 May, the Budapest Circle Cruise will be relaunched on the Danube in the capital. The boats will depart from Vigadó Square station, stop at the Academy Harbour, then pass by the Buda side of Margaret Island and continue along Battyhány Square to the National Theatre, where they will turn around and return to Vigadó Square, bkk.hu reports.
The boat service runs every two hours from Tuesday to Sunday, from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM. The last service returns to Vigadó Square at 8:15 PM. On Mondays, the boat service is suspended.
Ticket purchase information
From Tuesday to Friday, you can board the service free of charge with a valid BKK monthly season ticket or a season ticket with a longer validity. You can also travel with a paper Budapest pass or even with a digital pass purchased on BudapestGO. As the Budapest Circle Cruise is not a public service, travel discounts on the company’s public transport services, such as the exemption from fares for under-14s or over-65s, are not available on the boat services.
Tickets can be purchased in person at the Vigadó Square boat station and on board the boat at other ports.
On Saturdays and Sundays, and for those without a Budapest pass, a day ticket for adults costs HUF 1,500 (EUR 4), and under seven years of age, travel is free. Dogs and bicycles can be transported for HUF 1000 (EUR 2.67). The ticket entitles the holder to unlimited travel on the day of validity. The current fares are valid until 30 June 2023.
