There was -18 °C in Biharkeresztes and Pocsaj
In the regions covered by snow, the temperature fell below -10 °C. But rewarming is already on the horizon.
As we reported yesterday, Hungary expects a brutal cold this week. Though the weather was spring-like between Christmas and New Year’s Eve, it seems that January will be cold in Hungary. Thermometres were lowest in Biharkeresztes last night. In the Eastern Hungarian village, it was -18 °C, but in the snow-covered regions of the Great Hungarian Plains, the temperature was everywhere below -10 °C.
For Thursday, meteorologists forecasted that the mercury level might go below -20 Celsius degrees in the regions covered by snow.
