The Smallest Cross of Hungary

88-year-old József Kotroczó built the tiny golgotha.
József Kotroczó has been making fantastic dioramas (small-scale models) for more than 60 years. The 88-year-old retired set an official record in 2014: he prepared the smallest golgotha of Hungary.
The cross is made of wood, matchsticks and yarns. Previously there had been more copies, but this golgotha is built up in a small jar (24 mm in height).
József Kotroczó began to carve small-scale models and build up inside jars in 1942. At first, he made Székely gates. Although his works were lost during the war, he started again. In the ’50s, he missed out a few years, but then he continued again.
In the early 2000s, he contacted the Guinness World Records publisher, but his piece of back then could not be world record, as the mouth of the jar was too big.
