President Tamás Sulyok will attend the Pentecost mass in Șumuleu Ciuc (CsÃksomlyó), in central Romania, next week before visiting Praid (Parajd) to inspect the situation there and deliver aid via Hungarian Interchurch Aid.

“To us, Hungarians, Praid is more than a settlement,” Sulyok said. “It is part of the soul of Sekler Land; it is a place that holds our past and hopes, and where man is now tested by nature.” The president said his thoughts were with the people of Praid, expressing his sympathies to those who have suffered loss or were worried about their future.
Sulyok said it was important for a nation to show strength, unity and solidarity in times of trouble. He said he was in constant contact with Hungarian Interchurch Aid, which was among the first organisations to offer help.
