Storm chaos costs billions: 45,000+ Hungarian homes hit in just 3 days!

Homeowners filed claims with their insurers to cover over HUF 7.5bn of damages caused by severe storms early in the week, the Association of Hungarian Insurance Companies (MABISZ) said on Friday.

Claims were filed for damages to 45,734 homes in the first three days after the start of the spell of bad weather, a report by MABISZ shows. Businesses, institutions and local councils filed around 1,700 claims for HUF 1.9 billion (EUR 4.75 million) in damages.
