Socialists in training cooperation with German SPD

Berlin (MTI) – Hungary’s opposition Socialists and German Social Democratic Party SPD have decided to set up a joint working group and training centre, Socialist leader Jozsef Tobias told MTI.

On a visit to Berlin, Tobias held talks with SPD leader Sigmar Gabriel, who is Germany’s vice-chancellor and economy minister, as well as with its foreign minister, Walter Steinmeier, also delegated by the SPD.

Following the talks, Tobias said that the German politicians had expressed readiness to “help Hungary” in efforts to “reinforce directions set in 1989 and meet challenges within the framework of European integration and the rule of law”.
