Political scientist: Trump may visit Hungary soon

Political scientist Zoltán Kiszelly said that there was a chance that Donald Trump would visit Hungary before the presidential elections. He also shared the expected date of the extraordinary event. Find more details in the article.
We reported last week that prime minister Viktor Orbán gave the keynote speech at the CPAC 2022 in Dallas, Texas. “We should unite our forces,” he told the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) last Thursday. “We Hungarians know how to defeat the enemies of freedom on the political battlefield,” the prime minister added.
“Hungary is an old, proud, but David-sized nation standing alone against the Woke Globalist Goliath,” he said. “We invite the solidarity of the American conservatives.” “We must take back the institutions in Washington and Brussels,” he declared. “We must find friends and allies in one another.”
Earlier, Orbán and Trump met at the former US president’s golf course in Bedminster, New Jersey. They even shared a couple of photos together.
Zoltán Kiszelly, the political director of the government-close think tank Századvég, said the two politicians had a good rapport. Therefore, he suggested that Trump might even visit Hungary before the presidential elections.
He told blikk.hu that the midterms in the USA would be in November. He added that the results would strengthen the Republicans’ loyalty toward Trump. They have a good opinion of Orbán and his party. That is why Conservative Political Action (CPA) invited the Hungarian prime minister to Dallas. Trump did not announce yet whether he would run for the presidency again. However, the relationship between the two leaders will increase Orbán’s prestige in the United States and the White House, Kiszelly argued.
The political scientist said that the challenges were alike everywhere in the world. The gender ideology, the climate ideology and the anti-family attitudes are present both in Hungary and the USA. Trump and the Hungarian government share the same approach: sticking to traditional values can tackle most of these issues.
Kiszelly did not exclude that Trump may come to Hungary before the elections.
The CPAC’s venue this spring was Budapest, and the Hungarian capital may even host the event in the following year again.
If Trump decides to come, he may visit his third wife, Melania’s family, in Slovenia or meet his friend, Matteo Salvini. In that case, there is a good chance that the former US president will stop by Hungary on his way.
