Polish president-elect highlights importance of Polish-Hungarian ties in message to Orbán

Polish President-elect Karol Nawrocki said on X on Tuesday that Polish-Hungarian cooperation was instrumental for the whole of Europe and the region, in a tweet thanking Prime Minister Viktor Orbán for his congratulations on Nawrocki’s election win.
“Polish-Hungarian cooperation, both bilateral and in the Visegrád Group, is instrumental to the region and the whole of Europe’s growth and security. I’ll be happy to work with you on that. We share a lot, including a few similar decades of history under communist regimes,” Nawrocki said. Nawrocki was elected on Sunday. Under Polish law, his inauguration may be held on 6 August.
