Pet Shop Boys is coming to Hungary!
According to hvg.hu, the most successful British synthpop duo of all time is coming to Hungary this summer: they will perform on the main stage of the Szeged Youth Days (Szegedi Ifjúsági Napok – SZIN) on the 24th of August.
Undoubtedly, Pet Shop Boys is the most successful duo in the United Kingdom’s history of popular music. No other duo produced as many hits as they did, which all made it to the British Top 30 list – several of their songs stayed N°1 for many weeks.
They have sold more than 50 million records worldwide, thanks to which they are listed as the most successful British duo in the Guinness Book of Records.
The last time they performed in Hungary was four years ago. Since then, they have come out with a new album and continued touring the world. They will most probably play songs from their new album along with the evergreen hits, all wrapped in the typical extravagant stage spectacle.
For that matter, Jess Glynne, Wilkinson Live and the Faithless DJ Set will also perform at SZIN. In the 1970s-80s, SZIN was the only festival where bands could perform without censorship. By now, it has become a modern music festival, visited by more and more people every year.
Fun fact: the pronunciation of SZIN is exactly the same as “sin” in one of the most popular Pet Shop Boys songs 🙂
