Over 3,000 refugees from Ukraine arrive in Budapest train stations on Sunday

A total of 3,247 people fleeing the war in Ukraine, including 770 children, arrived in Budapest by train on Sunday, the Budapest police headquarters said.
Most of them continued their way individually or went to relatives after collecting information at the station, police.hu said on Monday.
Authorities transported 122 people, including 23 children, to shelters in and around Budapest.
The Budapest police and members of the rapid response team are assisting refugees arriving by train from Ukraine at the Keleti and Nyugati railway stations. In order to provide them with food, transport and accommodation, the police are in constant contact with the national directorate general for disaster management, the migration authority, public transport companies, the Budapest police and the staff of aid organisations, police.hu said.
Orbán attends natl security operative body’s meeting
Prime Minister Viktor Orban attended the meeting of the operative body for national security, where they discussed the latest developments of the war in Ukraine and the growing wave of refugees from the country.
The interior minister, the defence minister, foreign minister, the finance minister, the commander of the Armed Forces and other dignitaries regularly attend meetings of the body, which is tasked with monitoring and analysing the situation.
