Orban to call national security cabinet meeting to decide on sealing border with Croatia

Brussels, October 16 (MTI) – A meeting of the national security cabinet will be held on Friday early afternoon to decide on sealing the border between Hungary and Croatia, Prime Minister Viktor Orban said after a summit in Brussels.
He told the press in the early hours of Friday that he would call the meeting after returning to Budapest at around noon.
Orban said all the conditions for sealing the Croatian border are set and the same level of border protection can be achieved as on the Hungarian-Serbian border. He added that prior to the summit, the countries of the Visegrad group said in a statement that they would help Hungary protect its borders.
Orban said the summit of European Union prime ministers made serious progress towards reaching an agreement with Turkey in connection with the refugee crisis but no decision was made about sealing the Greek-Turkish border. This means that the most important of Hungary’s six proposals failed to succeed, he added.
