Orban: Hungary to launch biggest ever economic development program

(MTI) – Hungary will launch the biggest economic development programme in the country’s history at the start of next year, the prime minister said on Saturday.
Viktor Orban said that, in exchange, Hungarian businesses were expected to grow stronger, expand, undergo renewal and contribute to making the goal of creating five million jobs a reality.
“If we are determined, we can succeed,” Orban said, pointing to the example of Jullich Glas Holding, a Hungarian-owned glass maker in Szekesfehervar, western Hungary, that marked its 30th anniversary on Saturday.
He said the coming period would be the time for companies who want to expand and present new opportunity.
Orban said Hungary’s economy was on the right path, noting that the number of employed stands over 4 million, gross domestic product growth is over 3 percent and unemployment is below 8 percent.
He congratulated the Jullich family and the company’s staff for their three decades of labour and recalled the company’s humble beginnings in owner Adam Jullich’s garage.
Jullich Glas now has annual revenue of more than 5 billion forints (EUR 16m).
