Number of new home building permits up 2.7 pc in Hungary

The number of home building permits issued in Hungary rose by 2.7 percent to 27,388 in the first three quarters of 2019, data released by the Central Statistical Office (KSH) on Wednesday show.

The number of home building permits issued in Budapest rose by 22.0 percent to 10,031. The number of those issued in county seats and cities with over 50,000 residents fell 5.3 percent to 5,771. In other cities, they were down 12.3 percent at 6,835, while smaller localities saw a surge of 4.4 percent, to 4,751.

The number of completed homes increased by 0.8 percent to 10,302 in the first nine months.

In Budapest, that number jumped 17.1 percent to 2,523. In county seats it rose 5.2 percent to 2,871 and in other cities it was down 17.8 percent at 2,609. Smaller communities saw a rise of 6.4 percent to 2,299.
