New type of visa to revolutionise travel by letting you visit 6 countries

Tourism in the Middle East is on the cusp of a major transformation: the upcoming launch of the GCC Grand Tours Visa—a unified, “Schengen-style” travel permit for Gulf Cooperation Council countries—will soon make exploring six nations easier and more affordable in a single trip.
What is the unified visa?
The newly approved visa system will allow access to Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates with a single travel permit. Known as the Unified Tourist Visa, also referred to as the GCC Grand Tours Visa, the initiative was reported by Euronews. Instead of applying for separate visas for each country, travellers will be able to visit multiple nations with one application, mirroring the functionality of the European Schengen Area.
The aim of the new policy is to streamline regional travel, reduce bureaucratic hurdles, boost tourism, and encourage cross-border journeys. It also seeks to offer travellers the convenience of exploring rich historical and cultural landmarks alongside futuristic cities—all in one trip.
Who can apply and for what purpose?
The unified GCC visa will be available for tourism, family visits, or short-term stays. It is important to note that it will not permit employment or long-term residency. The visa is expected to be valid for 30 to 90 days, although the exact duration and associated fees have yet to be announced. Authorities have stated that the cost will be lower than obtaining six individual visas.

When will it be available?
The launch is anticipated by the end of 2025 or early 2026, although an exact date has not yet been confirmed.
How to apply?
ThThe system will be entirely online, with applications processed through a centralised digital portal. Required documents will include:
- A copy of a valid passport
- A passport-size photo
- Proof of accommodation
- Travel insurance
- Evidence of sufficient financial means
- A return or onward flight ticket
Following the review process, travellers will receive the visa via email; however, it is advisable to carry a printed copy throughout the journey.
What does this mean for travellers?
The forthcoming system opens up new travel possibilities: for the first time, visitors will be able to seamlessly explore iconic destinations across the region—from Dubai’s skyscrapers to Riyadh’s desert adventures, Oman’s coastlines to Qatar’s museums—all on a single journey. This new travel authorisation could truly transform the region into an “Arab Schengen”.
