A multinational tactical helicopter exercise, Fire Blade 2025, is under way at the air base in Pápa, in central Hungary, with the participation of 300 soldiers from 11 countries.

Colonel Zoltán Ralkó, the director of the two-week exercise, said that Austria, Hungary, Switzerland, Serbia and Slovakia provided a total of 20 aircraft, “and Slovenia and Belgium also greatly contributed to the exercise’s success”.

“Soldiers must be able to cooperate with anyone, any time, anywhere,” and the exercise is a good foundation for that, Ralkó said.

Fire Blade 2025, the third multinational helicopter and fixed-wing exercise to be held at the Pápa base, is being held between May 19 and 30, the air base said. It provides an opportunity to train for special operations and land forces, as well as tactical airlift, various extraction methods and live fire exercises, it said.
