MOL to open eighty more petrol stations on the Czech market

Prague (MTI) – Hungarian oil and gas company MOL began a re-branding campaign of its petrol stations in the Czech Republic. As a result of the continuous re-branding of Lukoil and Slovnaft, the company is planning to open eighty more petrol stations on the Czech market by the end of the year.

Oszkár Világi, the member of the MOL management board, and the CEO of the Slovnaft oil group, said at the opening ceremony that the company is aiming to establish its second largest petrol station network in the Czech Republic, as a substantial part of its export activity is already intended for the Czech market. MOL currently operates 192 Lukoil, Pap Oil, and Slovnaft petrol stations throughout the country, and following the acquisition of the Italian Eni’s petrol stations by the end of the summer, this number will rise to 317, making it the second biggest player on the Czech petrol market, added Világi.

The oil company is also intended to reduce the number of its petrol station networks in the Czech Republic from four to two. In order to achieve that, most of the recently acquired Lukoil and AGIP petrol stations will be turned into the flagship of MOL and Pap Oil.

According to Világi, it is another very important aspiration for the Hungarian oil group to further develop its international cooperation in the region, as they want to be one among the Czech Republic’s top ten companies. He also emphasized that the social responsibility is also very important issue, which they take seriously.
