Jobbik: Fidesz plan to build hospital serves to distract attention from closures

Budapest, February 6 (MTI) – The ruling Fidesz party’s plan to build a new hospital in Budapest only serves to distract attention from approaching closures of hospitals and departments, radical nationalist Jobbik said on Friday.

Ruling parties propose building new hospital in Budapest
Fidesz group leader Antal Rogan announced after a group meeting on Thursday that party lawmakers decided to ask the government to provide financing, partly from European Union funding, for the construction of a large-scale hospital in Budapest.
Jobbik MP Gyorgy Laszlo Lukacs said in a statement that the plan was an “impressive-sounding and grandiose distraction”, adding that in the capital “there are plenty of hospital buildings, existing development projects and infrastructure” that money should be spent on.
Jobbik proposes that the ruling party group should come forward with a proposal that supports all 160 hospitals around Hungary instead of making irresponsible promises to divert attention from the approaching closure of hospitals and departments.
