Hungary deploys new rotation of troops to Kosovo peacekeeping mission
Hungary has started deploying a new rotation of troops to the NATO-led KFOR peacekeeping mission in Kosovo, the defence ministry said on Monday.

The 280-strong contingent will be stationed in Kosovo from April until September, the ministry told MTI.
The new contingent will be responsible for carrying out crowd management tasks and fire phobia training, the statement said.
Hungary has been part of the KFOR mission from its onset and has since become one of its biggest contributors, they said.
The ministry noted that Hungary has taken on several leadership positions in KFOR, including Major General Ferenc Kajári’s year-long command of the mission from Oct 2021, and that the post of Deputy Chief of Operations of the KFOR Staff has also been held by a Hungarian officer since Oct 2023.
