Hungary gross wages close to HUF 600,000 (EUR 1,600) in April

The average gross wage in Hungary rose by an annual 15.5 percent to HUF 568,300 (EUR 1,531) in April, data released by the Central Statistical Office (KSH) on Thursday show.

Average net wages rose to HUF 377,900 (EUR 1022) with benefits in kind, up 15.4 percent compared with the same period last year.

Calculating with consumer price inflation of 24.0 percent, real wages were down 6.9 percent, KSH said.

The net median wage including benefits was HUF 306,700 (EUR 830), up 15.3 percent compared with the same period last year.
