Hungary just had its driest June in over 120 years

This June was the driest and second hottest recorded since 1901, weather forecaster HungaroMet said on Thursday.
The national median temperature averaged 22.3 °C this June, 2.5 °C higher than the average in the years 1991-2020, and the second hottest since 1901. At 23 °C in the central and south-eastern parts of the Great Plains, it was the hottest since 1901, according to met.hu.
Precipitation in June was an average of 12.2 millimetres, which was only 17% of the average 71.8 millimetres recorded in 1991-2020. Taking the national average, this June was the driest since 1901.
