Budapest, July 7 (MTI) – Visitor numbers in Hungary’s baths increased by an average of 2-4 percent in the first half of the year compared with the same period in 2015, the daily Magyar Idők said on Thursday.

Bath operators expect an even greater increase in the summer and estimate that revenues could climb by 3 percent.

Szabolcs Juhász, the head of the Hungarian Baths Association, told the paper that visitor numbers grew by 11 percent and revenue by 20 percent last year compared with 2014, thanks to the unusually warm summer.

More than 10 percent of visitors pay with Széchenyi voucher cards, he added.
