Hungarian word of the day!

Among others, the Hungarian language is known for having some peculiar words that uniquely stand out in the European continent. We have already presented the Hungarian word for wine and since we would like to keep the equality between the beloved alcoholic bevarages of Hungarians, we bring you our word for beer: sör.

By the way, did you know that according to statistics, Hungarians actually prefer beer to wine or pálinka?

sör – beer
sörözni – to drink beer

ser – beer (archaic; used in some dialects)
serezni – to drink beer (archaic; used in some dialects)

söralátét – beermat, beer coaster
sörhas – beer belly
