Hungarian wines fare well at Asia Wine Trophy

Budapest, November 23 (MTI) – Hungarian wines have fetched several prizes at Asia Wine Trophy in South Korea, which is the largest wine expo in Asia, the foreign ministry said.

A total of 37 Hungarian wines were presented at the event, and two received silver, nine received gold and Pannon Tokaj cellars’ Dominium 6 puttony aszú finished as the category winner, fetching a gold medal, ministry commissioner Gyula Budai said.

Hungary’s presence at the Asia Wine Trophy was important also because no Hungarian reds and whites have been exported to South Korea so far, only some Tokaji Aszú.

A total of 30 countries presented some 4,000 wines at the event which took place between October 28 and 30.
