Hungarian experts participated in the 7th ADA University Policy Forum in Khankendi and Baku. Hosted by ADA University, University’s Institute for Development and Diplomacy (IDD) and the Center of Analysis of International Relations (AIR Center), the annual forums foster critical discussions, fresh perspectives, and forward-thinking solutions for a rapidly evolving global landscape. This forum is a global crossroad for experts and thought leaders. The abbreviation of ADA stands for “Azerbaijan Diplomatic Academy”, which was the original name of the school that was later transformed into a full-scale university.

This year’s forum, themed “Facing The New World Order”, kicked off last Tuesday, April 8th, at Garabagh University, which was inaugurated last year in the Azerbaijani town of Khankendi in the Karabakh region. On the next day, the participants met in Baku with President Ilham Aliyev who addressed the questions relating to current political processes in the world.

László Vasa, Sándor Seremet, István Kiss and Zoltán Egeresi were among the participants of the forum. The first two are senior research fellows at the Hungarian Institute of International Affairs. Whereas the research field of Prof. Vasa is Central Asia, Caucasus, International Agricultural Economics, Economics of Natural Resources and Trade Policy, Dr. Seremet focuses his research mostly on economic and political processes of Ukraine, Russia, Transcarpathia and the post-Soviet countries. Prof. Kiss currently heads the Danube Institute, and he has worked also as a Political Adviser in the Prime Minister’s Office of Hungary. Dr. Zoltán Egeresi is a political analyst and research fellow at the Ludovika University of Public Service, and the area of his specialization covers Balkans and Turkic World.

“It was a privilege to participate in the 7th ADA University Policy Forum, which focused this time on the topic of transforming international order. This event is a traditional biannual meeting of experts from leading think-tank institutions. The program included visiting Karabakh and meeting with President Aliyev”, prof. Vasa told in an interview to Daily News Hungary.
