Hungarian government launches public transport action plan, says minister
The government has launched an action plan aimed at improving the public transport system and its services, the Minister for Construction and Transport announced at a press conference on Friday.
János Lázár explained that the action plan is intended to establish a “public transport constitution” to safeguard passengers’ rights, as well as to promote railway developments, vehicle acquisitions, and enhance passenger satisfaction.
As part of the programme, the state railway company, MÁV, will be restructured into a new entity, with Zsolt Hegyi taking over as head, replacing the current CEO, Zoltán Pafféri, Lázár said.
