Hungarian government-close company to cooperate with Kazakhstan’s KGS in space research

4iG Space and Defence Technologies has signed a memorandum of understanding to identify potential collaboration in the field of space industry with Kazakhstan Gharysh Sapary (KGS), parent company 4iG said in an announcement posted on the website of the Budapest Stock Exchange late Tuesday.

Under the MoU, the sides will set up a joint working group on several domains that enhance knowledge exchange and joint actions in the fields of satellite data sharing and exploitation for Earth observation and communication data, satellite development and launching, satellite ground segment, and manufacturing, assembly, integration and testing center capabilities, 4iG said.

4iG S+D is engaged in satellite manufacturing, earth observation, data transmission and analysis, drone and counter-drone technologies, and the development of defence digitalisation systems. KGS is a state-owned company responsible for overseeing and managing the development of space activities within the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Watchdog clears 4iG Telco Holding acquisition after commitments

The Hungarian Competition Authority (GVH) has cleared the acquisition of regional telecommunications operator PR-Telecom by 4iG Telecommunication Holding conditional on commitments undertaken to mitigate the impact of the merger on competition, parent company 4iG said on Wednesday.

After consultations with the watchdog, 4iG Telco Holding made commitments related to pricing and campaign restrictions for a five-year period. The transaction could be closed in August, following the fulfillment of further closing conditions. 4iG announced the deal a year earlier and said it would expand the group’s reach to 250,000 households and boost its customer base by 55,000 subscribers.
