GTC and NUMA Group enter Hungarian market with first location launch

- 170 units in the center of Hungary’s capital city
- NUMA Group now present in 15 countries and 35 cities across Europe
NUMA Group, Europe’s leading digital hospitality platform, has announced its launch in Hungary with a flagship property in central Budapest. Secured in partnership with GTC, a leading real estate investor and developer in the CEE and SEE regions, this project marks GTC’s first investment in the hospitality real estate sector. The new property is located at Klauzál utca 8-10, in the heart of Budapest’s vibrant Erzsébetváros district. This milestone follows NUMA’s success across Central Europe, with five properties in Prague and three in Vienna, and solidifies its highly anticipated arrival in the Hungarian capital.
Housed in a 19th-century building, the new NUMA Budapest property will be fully renovated to seamlessly blend its historic charm with contemporary design and NUMA’s proprietary tech-stack. The cooperation with GTC reflects a shared commitment to sustainable development and urban revitalization. By transforming this heritage asset, the project showcases the importance of restoring and densifying existing buildings—an approach that minimizes environmental impact and preserves the city’s architectural legacy.
Nestled in Erzsébetváros, one of Budapest’s most eclectic neighborhoods, the neighborhood immerses guests in a district rich in history and brimming with contemporary energy. Known for its iconic “ruin pubs,” quirky design shops, street art, and diverse dining options, this new property perfectly aligns with NUMA’s mission to let guests experience cities like locals.
Gyula Nagy, CEO of GTC, stated: “This project marks our first investment into hospitality real estate sector, which allows for further diversification of our property portfolio. Entering the hospitality sector will strengthen our portfolio with high-performing, resilient assets that respond to evolving market demands. Partnering with NUMA allows us to combine our expertise in real estate development with their proven operational excellence and tech-driven approach.”
Dimitri Chandogin, President and Co-founder of NUMA Group, commented: “Budapest is a highlight for European tourism, attracting the lion’s share of Hungary’s international visitors and ranking among the continent’s most attractive destinations. Almost 60 per cent of Hungary’s international tourist traffic passes through the city, which is already one of the top 15 European tourist destinations. Expanding into Budapest is a strategic milestone for NUMA as we continue our rapid European growth. With this new location, we look forward to demonstrating how our digital-first approach can enhance the guest experience while preserving the unique character of this historic city.”
László Szabó, NUMA’s Country Director for Hungary, added: “This property in Erzsébetváros perfectly embodies NUMA’s philosophy of combining historic charm with modern hospitality. The vibrant neighborhood, rich in history and cultural appeal, offers the ideal setting for our guests to immerse themselves in Budapest like locals. We are thrilled to bring NUMA’s innovative concept to Hungary and to offer travelers an unforgettable experience in this dynamic city.”
As NUMA continues its expansion across Central Eastern Europe, cities like Budapest, Prague, Warsaw, and Krakow remain key targets, underscoring the company’s commitment to bringing its innovative, sustainable accommodation model to the region’s most vibrant urban centers.
