Government to introduce new restrictions because of the Delta variant?

The Hungarian Medical Chamber (MOK) suggested restrictions because of the fourth wave caused by the new, much more infectious variant of the coronavirus.

According to portfolio.hu, Gyula Kincses, the chairman of MOK, said that Hungary should start preparing for the fourth wave as soon as possible. He added that he would suggest only one restriction: the reintroduction of immunity certificates. That would make it impossible for the non-inoculated to go to events or even enter a zoo or cinema. asked the government to start negotiations

about the salaries of doctors. They said that the level of the base salary was not problematic, but the system still needs to be amended in many parts. For example, the government should arrange different bonuses and extra work.

MOK’s chairman stated that the Hungarian government should start preparing for the fourth wave now, e.g. the administration should restart contact tracing and testing. At the moment, Gyula Kincses would suggest only one restriction. He would bring back the use of immunity certificates because that would increase the number of people who would accept the vaccine, without which there will be no end to the epidemic.

Furthermore, MOK did a survey in which they asked whether

doctors agree with the abolishment of gratuity.

Based on the results, 74 pc supported the decision. They also said that they are satisfied with the rise in their base salary. However, they added that the on-call fees are still a problem. Therefore, they asked the ministry to start negotiations, which have already begun.

Gyula Kincses said that work is not the same in all professions. As a result, they need to adjust the on-call fee system so that it fits the needs. Furthermore, they need to deal with the problem of labour shortage in some areas of healthcare. Moreover,

the government pays less for employees working at night or working overtime.

To make matters worse, those receive lower payments who are younger, which boosts emigration in the sector.

Mr Kincses also stated that because of the new healthcare service law changing the legal status of healthcare professionals, more and more employees are starting to work in the private sector. Therefore, if there is no institutional reform, the shortage of doctors will remain.

certain towns of East Tyrol, Austria, obligatory mask-wearing measures have been reintroduced.

Furthermore, only those can leave Oberlienz and Innervillgraten who are protected against the coronavirus.
