Government grants Pécs HUF EUR 1.6m for new sports facility

Budapest, February 18 (MTI) – The government will grant the city of Pécs in southern Hungary 500 million forints (EUR 1.6m) for planning and preparation works of its new sports facility and bath complex as part of the Modern Cities programme, a Fidesz lawmaker of Baranya County said on Thursday.
Péter Csizi said construction on the facility will begin as soon as planning is complete and all the building permits are obtained.
He said the decision to construct the facility was made based on consultations with some 5,000 local families. Csiszi said residents will also be given a chance to express their opinions on the project during the planning phase to ensure that the finished project fully meets their needs.
