Good news from Hungary’s tourism sector

Tourism accommodations hosted 664,000 visitors over the school holiday on April 17-27, 36pc more than during spring break a year earlier, Visit Hungary said on Wednesday.

Domestic travellers accounted for 338,000 of those guests, up 27pc from a year earlier. Guest nights climbed 25pc to around 1.5 million. Half of those were spent by foreign tourists. Tourism accommodations and catering establishments generated revenue of more than HUF 100bn over the school holiday. Revenue of accommodations rose 32pc to HUF 37.1bn.
