Fertőd, near Győr: one of Hungary’s best known palaces, fertődi Esterházy kastély/castle, which was built in the 1760s by Prince Nikolaus Esterhazy. It is the grandest Rococo edifice in Hungary, and sometimes the castle called the “Hungarian Versailles”.
