Gold mine to open in Börzsöny, Hungary

Besides gold, silver can also be found at the place where the mine would be opened.
A company called Hun-Bányászat Kutatási, Fejlesztési és Innovációs Kft. made some calculations and plans regarding opening a mine and sent them to the Hungarian Mining and Geological Service at the end of last October.
This would be a new business venture as
the Hungarian company was registered in 2018,
and originally had iron ore mining as its primary activity. However, it is an interesting fact that ore contains 1.05 grammes of gold and 27.51 grammes of silver on average, writes VG.

Works would take place at terrain as large as 44.23 square kilometres, in the Nagyirtás and Rózsa-hegy area. According to the submitted documents, “the ore assets explored in the Nagyirtáspuszta area contain 1,075.8 tonnes of crop gold and 909 tonnes of crop silver, while in the Rózsabánya area, there are 18.6 tonnes of gold and 98.85 tonnes of silver,” wrote Blikk.
The area was known for precious metals even centuries ago, in the era of the Kingdom of Hungary that lasted from 1000 until 1301.
Currently, there is only one other company operating in the land that Hun-Bányászat is interested in. Colas-Északkő Bányászati Kft. mines andesite in the area south-east from Márianosztra.
