Fuel prices rise in Hungary from Friday, but worse to come in two months

Fuel prices in Hungary will rise again on Friday. The increase is minimal, but experts predict it could be drastic in two months.

From Friday, the price of petrol in Hungary will rise by HUF 3 gross, while the price of diesel will increase by HUF 2. Thus, according to the calculations of holtankoljak.hu, the average price of 95 petrol will be HUF 577 (EUR 1.5) per litre. Meanwhile, the average price of diesel will be HUF 563 (EUR 1.47) per litre.

According to napi.hu, however, the situation will be significantly worse from autumn. The price of petrol and diesel will cross the HUF 600 (EUR 1.56) mark, and may even creep up to HUF 650 (EUR 1.69) from January 2024.
