FlixBus is significantly expanding its services, making it easier than ever to explore the continent by coach, with dozens of new routes and destinations launching just in time for the spring and summer travel seasons.

Hungary remains an important FlixBus hub

As Turizmus Online writes, Hungary continues to play a vital role in the European operations of FlixBus, offering direct routes from seven Hungarian cities to 20 countries via 45 lines. With 228 destinations currently on offer, including popular cities such as Vienna, Bratislava, Brno, Graz, Maribor and Vilnius, travellers have no shortage of options. From April 2024, FlixBus will expand its network further in Hungary, increasing the number of available routes by 26% to 53, including 36 brand-new destinations. The network will grow again for the summer season, with nearly 40 more cities added.

New routes

Michal Leman, Head of the Eastern Europe Region at FlixBus, highlighted the company’s ongoing investment in Hungary, where Budapest serves as a central hub. New international routes have been launched from cities such as Sopron and Győr, with the Sopron-Warsaw service returning on 28 April, running four times a week and extending to Kazimierz Dolny during the summer. By the end of April, travellers will have access to a total of 254 destinations from Hungary, offering a sustainable and budget-friendly way to explore Europe.

These routes mark the return of international green buses to the region after a five-year hiatus. Additionally, a brand-new direct service to Poland’s Baltic Sea coast will begin this summer, offering Szczecin its first direct connections from Hungary, the Czech Republic, and Slovakia. The extended route to Koszalin will be available from 2 June to 7 September.
