Elderly Budapest citizens vaccinated with this jab have no immunity?

The results of some new antibody/immunity tests of vaccinated elderly have arrived, and they do not look good. 

The effectiveness of the Chinese Sinopharm vaccine was questioned on more than one occasion, in Hungary, as well. The European Union, for instance, still has not authorised the usage of these jabs. 

Meanwhile, in Hungary, the majority of the elderly was vaccinated with it. In a country that is open for anyone to enter with a PCR test or a vaccine certificate, and where the usage of masks is no longer obligatory, this is not good news at all. 

Starting from the beginning of last week,

Budapest Municipality offered the free possibility for those elderly over the age of 60 who were vaccinated with Sinopharm to take a test and find out whether they have a sufficient antibody level

that gives them immunity against the coronavirus. 

This Tuesday, Budapest Municipality issued a statement about the tests. The blood samples were taken directly from the vein and examined by an external, private laboratory that used the SARS-CoV-2 IgG II Quant Assay tests. Those applying for the test gave their data on their vaccination voluntarily. Out of 1798 tests, 1760 gave a result that can be examined in detail. 

These 1760 tests are not a representative result of all Budapest elderly over the age of 60,who were inoculated with Sinopharm. However, it can be useful to draw conclusions from analysing and presenting the findings of the tests, based on the voluntary declaration and information giving of the participants.  

Let us see the results then.

23,90% of people over the age of 60 vaccinated with Sinopharm received a result stating that the level of neutralizer antibodies of IgG type in their blood circulation is insufficient. 

It means that only 76,10% of those tested have proper immune protection. 

When it comes to other serums, the percentage of those without a sufficient antibody level is significantly lower. 

Pfizer: 2 people (0,75% of people tested)

Sputnik V: 7 people (5,47% of people tested)

Sinopharm: 294 people (23,90% of people tested)

As 24.hu writes, Mayor Gergely Karácsony commented the results on his Facebook page. Despite the test not being representative due to the voluntary basis, together with all experience, it suggests that something is not right. Namely that

hundreds of thousands of people from the generations of our parents and grandparents are not well protected,

while the delta variant is already in the neighbourhood, getting ready to unleash the fourth phase. 

He suggests four important steps for the government to take as soon as possible:

• A free antibody test for everyone inoculated, with priority for those elderly who received the Chinese jab.
• Those who do not have antibodies should receive a third vaccine right away with a serum that was proven effective.
• The government should apologise for prioritizing its political propaganda and for serving the Chinese interests over the protection of the elderly.
• To share all details of the Chinese business and to account those billions of forints belonging to taxpayers that were paid for the transactions. To call to account the mediator company benefiting from the transaction. To repay all the stolen money into the common wallet. 

Shady business around the Sinopharm vaccine in Hungary?

What will happen then to those who do not have a sufficient immune reaction? The government can decide about a third vaccine this Wednesday.

Until there is a clear decision and a protocol, no third dose can be given to anyone, not even if someone asks for it.

Last week, Gergely Gulyás, Minister of the Prime Minister’s Office did not say anything about what will happen to those unprotected. 

Without a solution from the government, many Hungarians have decided to travel to Romania, as the country offers EU citizens to be vaccinated. So far, Romania registered over 700 Hungarians, most of them receiving a Pfizer dose.

According to the newest data of the ECDC (European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control) in Hungary, a little over two million people over the age of 60 were vaccinated. 568 thousand of them received the Chinese vaccine and almost all of them, 559 thousand elderlies are fully vaccinated with both doses. The database of ECDC states that 2.59 million people older than 60 live in Hungary. If a quarter of them does not have any immunity at all, the country might have to face some serious problems very soon.
