Egypt of pharaohs exhibition attracts record number of visitors in Szeged

Budapest, December 31 (MTI) – A record number of 114,000 people have gone to see the large-scale exhibition on Egypt and the pharaohs in Szeged’s Ferenc Mora Museum in southern Hungary, the museum’s press officer said on Wednesday.
The exhibition that closed on Dec. 30 presented Egypt of the pharaohs at three venues, Konstantin Medgyesi told MTI.
Visitors could learn about the cult, religious belief and day-to-day life of Egyptian rulers in the Mora Museum’s central building, said Medgyesi.
They could explore mummification, mysteries of embalming, secrets of Egyptian medicine and writing in the Black House while they could learn about the mysteries of the death cult in Egypt at the Kass Gallery, he said.
Medgyesi noted that no other museum in Hungary outside Budapest had seen such a record number of visitors before.
