Dani García visited the famous Budapest Fény Street Market and created a new dish
After opening the BiBo Budapest, Dani García, accompanied by Zsófi Mautner, a Hungarian food writer, visited the famous Fény Street Market in Budapest’s 2nd district. The concept of the BiBo restaurant brand is blending international and local tastes, so García enjoyed the tour a lot.
According to Turizmus Online, a market is like a library for a creative chef since conversations with local people and learning their stories make the impressions needed to invent something new. They visited the market on a bustling Saturday, meeting and talking with many people.
“I liked that I could discover many local products available only in Hungary and meet such special people whose genuine connection to the land they cultivate was apparent. I think that is why I felt at home among them; even if for a moment it was like I had arrived on another planet,” said Dani García.
The Spanish star chef created his newest dish inspired by the Fény Street Market
In García’s interpretation, fried pizza dough was reborn as “muntanara lángos,” enriched with creamy homemade sour cream and horseradish, mangalica ham and mustard, further enhanced by pickled cucumber, dill, and caper berries.
