Bulgarian bank card fraudsters arrested in Budapest

Budapest, January 28 (MTI) – Two Bulgarian men have been arrested in Budapest for alleged bank card fraud causing damage of tens of million forints, police said on its website on Wednesday.

The men aged 49 have been collecting bank card details with the help of a special device attached to cash machines since June last year. Using the information acquired, they manufactured fake cards that were then used by unidentified accomplices for withdrawing cash in the US, South America and the Far East.

The men were caught in the act last Wednesday when they were removing their device from a cash machine in Budapest’s 8th district. During a house search, police found several additional devices used for stealing bank card details.
