Budapest Agglomeration Development Council will be set up

A Budapest Agglomeration Development Council will be set up as part of a package of amendments approved by parliament’s legislation committee on Thursday as part of the 2023 pre-budget bill.

Members of the council will include the Budapest mayor, a Budapest general assembly representative, and a person delegated by the city of Erd, the only county seat in the agglomeration.

Additionally, the council will comprise a representative of the minister in charge of the utilisation of EU resources, a representative of the minister in charge of preparing government strategies, a representative of the minister in charge of regional planning, health care, social policy, public education, transport and public utility services, and representatives selected for the regional development council in line with the law on regional development.
