Another Chinese city to have direct flights to Budapest

From mid-June, Shanghai Airlines, part of the China Eastern group, plans to operate one scheduled flight per week between Ningbo and Budapest, and from July two flights per week.

The flights between Ningbo Lishe International Airport and Budapest Liszt Ferenc International Airport will be opened in two phases, starting on 29 May and followed by two pairs of direct charter flights between the city in the Yangtze Delta region, in the northeast of Zhejiang province, and the Hungarian capital on 5 June. The first flight will arrive in Budapest at 21:40 local time on 29 May and return to Ningbo at 23:55, Airportal.hu said.

In the second phase, the airline will start operating the route once a week on Mondays from 12 June, and from July onwards, the service will be extended to two direct flights a week (Mondays and Thursdays).

The flights will be operated by Shanghai Airlines Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft.

The new air services agreement between the two countries will allow 42 pairs of flights per week between China and Hungary, including passenger and cargo flights, instead of the previous maximum of 21, details HERE.

Ningbo is the fourth Chinese city to be served by direct flights from the Hungarian capital. Air China currently connects Beijing (from 19 June) and Chongqing, while Shanghai Airlines connects Budapest with Shanghai.
