“You will only have peace in the grave!” Ukrainian ambassador warned Hungary hysterically
The Ambassador of Ukraine in Budapest, Lyubov Nepop, sent a message addressing Hungarians, saying that “Hungarians will have strategic peace only in the grave”. The Ambassador also drew attention to the fact that Hungary must provide support to Ukraine because, according to her, if Ukraine falls, Hungary could be the next target of Russia in the future.
Gas price reduction or human lives?
“The West does a lot, but not enough. The Russians could be stopped. But at the moment, people are stopping tanks in Ukraine without weapons. In the occupied cities, Ukrainians are singing the anthem on the streets. But we need more,” said the ambassador, according to 444. She also thinks the West is delaying sanctions. “A lot of people had to die before some steps were finally taken. But there would still be stuff to do. How many more people have to die for more actions to happen? Is gas price reduction more important to you than human lives?” she asked.
She found similarities between 1956 Hungary and Ukraine now
Nepop also spoke about the importance of Western governments standing up, as well as about the Hungarian leadership, to 444.hu, emphasising that “You will be next, Putin will not stop!” She drew a parallel between what is happening now and what happened in Hungary in 1956, highlighting that Hungary’s serious grievance is that it had not received Western help against the Russians in 1956 and that the Ukrainians are in a similar situation now.
The term “strategic peace” comes from Hungarian PM Viktor Orbán
The term “strategic peace” mentioned by Nepop was used by Viktor Orbán after Russia invaded Ukraine, writes Telex.hu. He used the term twice in an “interview” with Kossuth Radio on March 4. “So, in such a troubling situation, it is easy to make mistakes. That is why I say let’s stay calm, strategic peace is necessary now. So, you shouldn’t make any hasty, quick, deliberate, ill-considered decisions because that’s going to be a problem,” said the PM of Hungary, Viktor Orbán.
