Accident at Budapest railway station: Luxury car crashes, takes out road sign

A high-end vehicle was severely damaged late Friday night in a solo accident near Budapest’s Keleti railway station. The crash occurred around 11 PM in front of Arena Mall, located along the busy Kerepesi Road.
According to Bors, the driver of the luxury car lost control of the vehicle while approaching a pedestrian crossing. The car struck and knocked over a road sign before coming to a stop. Photos published by the Hungarian tabloid show the car’s front end completely smashed, with debris scattered across the area.

Despite the dramatic scene, no injuries were reported. Emergency responders, including paramedics and disaster management services, were quickly dispatched to the site. Fortunately, their intervention was not required, as the driver — who was alone in the vehicle — walked away unharmed, though visibly shaken.
What could have been a much more tragic incident ended with property damage only. It’s considered a stroke of luck that no pedestrians or other vehicles were in the immediate vicinity when the crash occurred, especially given the location’s heavy traffic during daytime hours.
Authorities have not yet confirmed whether other vehicles may have played any role in the incident, and the exact cause of the accident remains unclear.
