Exhibition pays tribute to bishop Aron Marton

Budapest, June 16 (MTI) – Janos Arpad Potapi, state secretary in charge of Hungarian communities, opened an exhibition in memory of Catholic bishop Aron Marton, in Budapest on Thursday.
Marton (1896-1980) was ready to oppose Romania’s communist rulers and fight for the rights of his ethnic Hungarian minority, well aware that he would be imprisoned, Potapi said at the opening ceremony held at the foreign ministry.
The exhibition is part of the programmes of the Arton Maron Memorial Year.
