FM Szijjártó: US-Russia wrestling matches in Budapest will hopefully ease ties – PHOTOS

It is hoped that US-Russia “Wrestling for Peace” matches held in Budapest on Tuesday will ease ties between the two countries, just as US-China ping-pong diplomacy did in the 1970s, Péter Szijjártó, the foreign minister, said in a post on Facebook, noting that the freestyle matches are being organised by the Professional Wrestling League (PWL) in ten weight categories and held in the Kozma István Hungarian Wrestling Academy.

President of the Russian Wrestling Federation Mikhail Mamiashvili and the executive director of USA Wrestling Rich Bender will attend the event, Szijjártó noted.
