Here’s Budapest Airport’s new logo, HungaroControl gears up for record summer travel

Budapest Airport has revealed its new logo recently, which honours the values of the past and opens a gate to the future, represents the various greenish shades of nature, the reflection of the River Danube, the heritage of Ferenc Liszt, the famous Hungarian composer. Budapest Airport intends its new logo to become a symbol of Hungarian culture and Hungary’s international relations.
New logo designed for Budapest Airport
According to AIRportal, the new logo was presented for the first time at a gala concert organised to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the airport in the House of Hungarian Music. The new logo replaced the old one, which the airport introduced in 2011. As you can see below, it highlights the new operator of the airport, Vinci Airports.
The new operator said the airport was not just a travel hub but a gate between Hungary and the world, an impression that millions of passengers take with them when they arrive in Hungary or say goodbye to us. Therefore, it is crucial what it shows to the world.

The new logo honours the values of the past and opens a gate to the future, representing the various greens of nature, which symbolise Hungary’s colourful wildlife, flora and fauna. You may find the reflection of the River Danube in it, with the heritage of Ferenc Liszt, the famous Hungarian composer, through a piano score.
Therefore, the logo represents the honour towards the masters of the past and the airport’s commitment towards our shared cultural heritage. It also aims to be a symbol of Hungarian culture and Hungary’s international relations.

According to AIRportal, the introduction of the new logo will be gradual.
HungaroControl gears up for record summer travel
State-owned HungaroControl has undertaken a number of steps to boost capacity and efficiency in anticipation of another record summer for travel, officials of the air traffic control company said on Monday.
CEO Ferenc Turi said the company had reached an agreement with unions on pay rises until 2019, ensuring competitive salaries. The number of HungaroControl air traffic controllers has climbed by more than 10pc, he added.
HungaroControl’s ATCs guided over 327,000 aircraft through Hungarian airspace in January-April, up 7pc from the base period. The number of en route flights is expected to climb 8-12pc this year, while the number of take-offs and landings at Liszt Ferenc International Airport could increase 10-15pc.
HungaroControl is taking all possible measures to reduce the number of late flights.
